In commemoration of World Aids Day, radio personality Criselda Kananda has penned an emotional message of how testing and trying this year of Covid has been for her as a person living with HIV. Having had to start a course of antiretroviral medication ARVs in May, the radio personality has highlighted how tough the year was for her a fter 22 years of living healthily with HIV.

The radio veteran added that this year was the year she tested all her theories about HIV claiming how grateful she was to still be alive today as many were not so fortunate. Criselda said she makes sure she lives, loves and lets live. She also drew up some stats of how many people had lost their lives to Aids, saying that HIV was a global public health issue. An estimated HIV is a germ that weakens the body. Aids is any illness that takes advantage of the weak body and makes the body sick. TB, cancers, pneumonia, diarrhoea, meningitis, bacterial and fungal infections and some that are incurable but treatable: shingles and other viral infections like herpes.
